Membership in the Association of Independent Research Institutes has an impressive array of benefits. Membership is an Institutional Membership, which means that all staff from an institute can reap the benefits of the Institute’s membership.

AIRI is a nationwide association of ninety (90) independent, not-for-profit research institutes, and has been in existence for forty-nine (49) years. It is the only organization that focuses solely on the issues of independent, not-for-profit research institutes, as opposed to the larger realm of universities and hospitals.

AIRI provides valuable services to members on both the political and mutual assistance levels. Government relations activities are handled by Lewis-Burke Associates and by the AIRI members themselves, addressing issues related to Congress, the National Institutes of Health, and other federal agencies.

On the mutual assistance level, membership in AIRI provides the opportunity for scientists, directors, and administrative staff to come to know their counterparts in comparable institutions. This is particularly valuable when one would like to know how others are dealing with common problems. Our members strongly rate networking as the major benefit of membership.

Please take a moment to see the advantages of an AIRI Membership. As a member, you will be able to take advantage of many of the benefits, such as the annual AIRI Compensation Survey, the AIRI Annual Meeting, the weekly AIRI Washington Report emails, AIRI online with the members-only pages, the complimentary online job listings, the member institute directory publication, member news, and more.
