WARF seeks an Assistant General Counsel to join the legal department in supporting the legal interests and affairs of WARF and its affiliates. The Assistant General Counsel performs a significant amount of legal transitional work involving intellectual property including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements. This position also serves as an industry contracting liaison to the UW-Madison, a vibrant research university.

Candidate Requirements: The successful candidate must be committed to WARF's mission to support world-class research at the University of Wisconsin and bring innovative ideas to market to benefit humankind. Ideal candidates must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems by developing practical solutions that combine legal considerations with program and policy objectives. Ideal candidates will possess a Law degree with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and at least four years of experience practicing intellectual property law at a law firm or company. Experience within intellectual property and patent law, technology transfer and/or licensing experience is preferred and admission to the patent bar is preferred. Other requirements for the position include superb judgment, excellent analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills, and impeccable professional discretion.
