Monday, October 5, 2009 - Join us
for our opening general session to AIRI's 48th Annual Meeting as we
bring together leading presidents from AIRI Member Institutions from
across the country. This was one of the most popular and most
attended sessions each year. You will not want to miss perspectives
from this year's panel of AIRI Presidents to include: Michael A.
Cawley, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Samuel Roberts
Noble Foundation; Michael F. Christman, PhD, President and Chief
Executive Officer, Coriell Institute for Medical Research; and
Russel E. Kaufman, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, The
Wistar Institute. The session will be moderated by Kenneth P.
Trevett, JD, AIRI Past President, President and Chief Executive
Officer, Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research.
Northwest Pacific's only AAA Five Diamond
Hotel Accommodations – This year's meeting will be in
Seattle, Washington at the luxurious Fairmont Olympic Hotel, October
4-7, 2009. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is ideally located in the
heart of Seattle, footsteps from the city's most exciting
attractions, including the famous Pike Place Market, Seattle
Waterfront and Space Needle, plus a multitude of museums, theatres,
shops and restaurants.
This year’s theme is "Capitalizing on Change". All
of us have seen much change – both in the outside world and within
our institutions. We chose this year’s theme to set a positive tone
as we all learn to live with and make the best of the changes we
have to adopt, implement, and translate into a brighter future for
our institutions and research as a whole.
We strongly encourage you to make your hotel
reservations now and register for the meeting. Early registration
ends and the room block ends August 31st (although the hotel tends
to sell out in July).
